An EAGLE on the Course!
Congratulations to Karen Thyne! She posted an eagle on #2 Handicap Hole, Ortonville’s Hole #5 – this is probably more rare than a hole-in-one!

One under par 35 was good enough to tie for low score at OLGA’s 9 Hole Scramble May 19. Teams carding 35s were Team Dawn Hughes, Shirley Kindt, Amy Roggenbuck, and Denise Frette; and Team Sharon Kirchberg, Deb Barnhardt, Pat Knutson, and (not pictured Sharon Watkins.)
In honor of the late Bob Dybvig, women from the Ortonville Ladies Golf Assn met May 17th to refurbish several golf course flower beds. Many of the flower beds on the course were designed and planted with loving care by Bob and it is an honor to restore them.
Some fun golf news – Yes, they drove through snow flurries, teed off at 27° windchill, and finished their round tied for 6th in the not-so-prestigious 5th flight at the MWPGA 4-Ball Tournament. OLGA golfers Mary Weber and Mary Ross competed valiantly at the Emerald Green Golf Course in Hastings MN Saturday May 14. Unsolicited advice: “If you have to hit out of a snowbank, use your sand wedge and aim to the left of the target…” [In spite of everything] “We still had fun!”
